Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What subscription is best for me?

This depends on the medical purpose of the test and your condition. On average, regular monitoring means for us at least once every two weeks, but it can be as often as twice a week for some fast-changing conditions or just once a month if it is for general health screening purposes. We recommend you discuss this with your doctor and make a decision based on what is best for your condition.

Is my data securely stored?

Yes, we comply with all the relevant standards of data privacy and security (ISO 13485 and ISO 27001, NHS DSP, CE Mark under the Medical Devices directive), user's data remains safe and anonymised in our databases, only your account can match your results to your identity.

Is my data ever shared or will it ever be shared or sold to someone else in the future?

No, never. Your data may be used to train our own algorithms but only after it has been anonymised. Your identity is only shared with your health professional if you designated one. Your data is not and never will be shared with anyone else and is stored in data centres in the European Union, where it is protected by the world's most stringent legislation for protecting patient identity and privacy rights.

Can I order Algocyte® if I don’t have any particular condition or disease?

Unlike other companies, we are not just commercially-driven, and we always recommend that you partner with your health professional to make the best decision for you. You can order Algocyte® if you don’t have any particular disease or condition, as a means to monitor your general health but we recommend you discuss this with your doctor. It is best when Algocyte® is best suited to monitor users with a medical condition. While the test Algocyte® performs is one of the most common for general screening, this does not mean that it can inform or detect every disease or condition. Also, changes in your immune system are often normal and even expected for different reasons, including seasonality. All these aspects are important to know or understand before you sign up.

What is the value proposition of Algocyte®?

Patients in the community often require travelling long distances to clinics or hospitals for blood testing, or they are sent nurse specialists to obtain regular intravenous blood samples. Algocyte® simplifies all this process as you are sent a kit and perform your blood test at home. Your designated health professional then receives the results.

How does Algocyte® help my doctor to monitor my health?

In addition, Algocyte® provides you and your health professional with the tools to better understand and track your results over time with personalised reference values from the literature specific to your condition (gender, age, location, condition, etc.) and can be adjusted. Algocyte® also offers a risk stratification immune score that complements the health professional own screening and assessment.

What is the purpose of the test questionnaire?

Another innovation of Algocyte® is the feedback mechanism that includes a set of questions that your medical professional can devise for you to answer remotely every time that you perform a test, thus matching other conditions to your results, such as whether you have been diagnosed with some illness, whether you are currently taking any drug, or how you feel in general.

How long will it take to get the results of each test?

An average of 48 to 72 hours.

For how long will Algocyte® will store my data?

For as long as you keep your subscription you will have access to your data and is required by law and the NHS guidelines in the UK, that can be as long as 30 years, for example; or when required by law after a clinician or patient request.

Can I cancel my paid test subscription at any time?

Yes, you can, provided you do so at least 10 days ahead of your next billing date, before we charge and send the next kit.

What is Algocyte’s risk stratification immune score?

Will Algocyte® ever offer other tests?

Yes, we have a full range of other tests and you should contact us should you have any particular tests in mind. On the other hand, we will continue expanding the range of tests related to continue improving the reconstruction and resolution of your immune profile to include more in-depth immune-related tests.

Who performs Algocyte's tests?

When it is not us or our devices, labs with which Algocyte® partners are NHS-approved only labs.

What if one of my patients asks for their Patient Data?

We comply with patients having the right to request a copy of the data that we hold about them. If a patient makes a data subject access request directly to Algocyte® ("data subject access request"), we will in our capacity as comply with such request where Algocyte® holds the data requested.

What about the records Algocyte® holds about medical professionals?

Algocyte also collects personal information about customers/medical professionals in order to promote Algocyte products, set them up with an Algocyte® account, process orders, and respond to inquiries. These data are protected by the same security measures. Our Privacy Notice contains details of how Algocyte® processes a medical professional’s personal information and the rights that they have with respect to it.

Can patients ask for anything else?

Patients have the right to have inaccurate or incomplete personal (not medical) data rectified, have their data deleted or stop processing their data. Patients may also be able to revoke their consent to share their data with their medical professional or share it with some other.
